Endless Summer: What To Drink This Month

September may mean many things to many people… Labor Day, back to school, pumpkin spice anything, the list goes on. It can feel like an “in-between” month - not as hot as August afternoons, not as chilly as October evenings. With all this confusion, it can be hard to figure out one of the most important things: what to drink.

Say goodbye to your margarita or pina colada, and say hello to a few versatile wines that will navigate you smoothly through the month.

Rosé. Unlike your white shoes, you don’t have to say goodbye to your “rosé all day” mentality. Give your pink beverage an upgrade by choosing a bubbly option, like a rosé spumante. Luca Paretti Rosa ($15.99) is a perfect go-to, exuding an intoxicating aroma of berries, lilac and wild rose. It is refreshing with just a hint of sweetness.

White. Much like in handbags, you can never go wrong with Italian - when it comes to wine. A pinot grigio can be a perfect complement to a light meal, but is also drinkable on its own. Sonoro Pinot Grigio ($14.99) has rich aromas of exotic peach and apricot fruits. On the palate it is pure, crisp and refreshing – an exemplary Friuli wine.

Red. What’s your favorite vice? California-based The Vice Wines offers exceptional red wines, some at everyday prices. For this month we suggest “The House” Pinot Noir ($25.99), which pairs brilliantly with fish (yes, you can have red with fish), chicken, and pasta dishes. The aroma has hints of wild strawberries, rhubarb, pomegranate and black cherries. The palate is so silky and smooth with lingering flavors of cranberry, ripe plum and spice.
